How do you know which windows are energy efficient?
The most important parameter that tells you whether or not the windows are energy efficient is the heat transfer coefficient (Uw) for the whole window.
Tells us how much of the heat energy flows in one second through 1 m² surface, with external and internal temperature difference equal to 1.0 K. The lower the value of U, the heat losses are lower and the divider has better insulation parameters. The old single-paned windows achieved Uw of about 5.8 W/m².
